Time Away

My original online friends of MyEvidentFaith.com may have moved on by now, I am sure, because just a few months after my mom died I decided to take a break from writing and playing online. I didn’t post it here when she died, but I had a lot of things going on that even affected my ability to grieve. That was back in 2013. Unfortunately, this also meant that I let my domain expire, so that is why you see me now at myevidentfaith.wordpress.com.

However, if you are reading this, I’m so glad you are here! I have still been working at my faith journey, as well as pushing through the daily joys and struggles of just being a PERSON in this crazy world!

I have had it on my heart for several years to reach out to women, and encourage their faith and help them manage their daily life struggles. I prayed about starting a woman’s group at our church, and we did, but we are still working away at community outreach, including a woman’s activity group.  As everyone knows, it is surely a challenge to find time in our busy society for activities that take us away from the home and our families. However, we all need to make connections, so even though this seems to be harder to do, we need to try by all means that we have available!

I am posting this short hello because IRL I am following along with More 2 Be’s mentoring class that started on the 6th.  Of course, I haven’t been home for the past few days (what with my birthday and all, WOOT WOOT) so I haven’t gotten to sit at the computer to immerse myself in my new adventure and make new friends. I am currently writing this post during my lunch break at work and I look forward to this evening when I can sit down and leisurely enjoy some private time online and work at my More 2 Be activities…

Until next time, Peace.

More to Be

My own personal #yum

Sweet dinner!

Happy for summer and family… This vignette is missing only my sister Diana and her family, who live 1,000 miles away.

Gouda and Bleu Cheese burger choices, fresh salad, and more… and the finale… strawberries!

After the past few weeks of go-go-go, all around the time of my mom’s passing, I am ready to indulge.
Using a Mommy coupon from Christmas that came with some lotions, I am about to get a lovely foot rub from my youngest daughter.

Sometimes I feel a little cruel, but she made the coupons!

Do you enjoy a little pampering at home, or do you feel too self indulgent?

Sounds like a nice recipe for flavored water!

Happy Valentine’s Day

When you’re with family

Sometimes you just know when you are with family.

When you sit quietly, and want to listen. When all of you share your wants and desires. And their goals are the same as yours.

When they pray with you and allow their hearts to pour out for all to see, and their hearts are pure. And neither age nor employment affect the direction of your lives.

Tonight I give thanks in praise and relief for newfound family.

Funny story

I apologize that I don’t have a source for this very funny email…

I also apologize that I have been absent here…

Please enjoy this very funny story!!  It was not what I expected 🙂

…Thanks to my friend Tracy for sharing this with me!!

Billy Graham was returning to Charlotte after a speaking engagement and when his plane arrived there was a limousine there to transport him to his home. As he prepared to get into the limo, he stopped and spoke to the driver.

‘You know’ he said, ‘I am 87 years old and I have never
Driven a limousine. Would you mind if I drove it for a while?’

The driver said, ‘No problem. Have at it.’

Billy gets into the driver’s seat and they head off down the highway. A short distance away sat a rookie State Trooper operating his first speed trap.

The long black limo went by him doing 70 in a 55 mph zone.

The trooper pulled out and easily caught the limo then got out of his patrol car to begin the procedure. The young trooper walked up to the driver’s door and when the glass was rolled down, he was surprised to see who was driving.

He immediately excused himself and went back to his car and called his supervisor. ‘I know we are supposed to enforce the law…. but I also know that important people are given certain courtesies. I need to know what I should do because I have stopped a very important person.’

The supervisor asked, ‘Is it the governor?’

The young trooper said, ‘No, he’s more important than that.’

The supervisor said, ‘Oh, so it’s the president.’

The young trooper said, ‘No, he’s even more Important than that.’

After a moment, the supervisor finally asked, ‘Well then, who is it?’

The young trooper said, ‘I think it’s Jesus, because he’s got Billy Graham for a chauffeur!’
